I’ve been waiting ten years to write this article celebrating the work God has been doing in and through Restoration over the past decade. On the one hand, it feels like yesterday that we were trusting the Lord to lead us as we opened our doors for the first time at a bar in Addison (not even knowing if God would bring anyone to worship with us that first Sunday). But our human minds were blown as we witnessed God’s people streaming into church that first Sunday. We realized that day that God indeed had a call for us and would not let us out of His grip and provision for the years to come.
Now, I sit here ten years later and count the blessings I see all around me. I couldn’t be any more thankful for all the people that have come into our lives at Restoration or the ways that God has used them to shape me in life and ministry. Watching God redeem and restore lives is the reason Stacy and I stepped out of our comfort zone to plant a church in the beginning, and I feel privileged for the ways you have invited us into your lives and allowed us to be a part of the restoration work that God is continually doing. I am humbled by the thousands of prayers we have lifted up and the ways we have seen God answer.
Don’t get me wrong; there have been bumps along the way. In each hardship, God has drawn us closer in faith and in trust —closer in hope for the future. One thing I realize is that God has called me to a place and to a people, and I look forward today with you all in mind. I feel renewed in my commitment to walk through life in humble service to the restoration work God has ahead.
As we close out the week of our 10th Birthday celebration we invite you to join us to continue to celebrate and see what God has in store for the future. Be a part of the ways God is moving. Be a part of experiencing God’s Restoration in your life. Be a part of what God is doing in the lives of those around you. Be present and experience Restoration with us!
