I have been known to announce “the Lord will provide” when a need comes up. It was even a key point in my message last week but it is not until we are actually faced with a need that we begin to consider the audacity of our claim. If the Lord will provide, what will it look like? How will he do it?
Last week we said goodbye to our dear friend Karen Giardina who moved to Ohio this week with her husband Rick. This week I want to tell you how the Lord continues to provide for Restoration. He has opened up the door of opportunity and provided Erik and Andrea Willits who are joining the Restoration family.
The Rev. Erik Willits is a transitional deacon in our diocese Churches for the Sake of Others (C4SO). He is a recent graduate of Nashotah House Seminary in Wisconsin and has just returned to the Dallas area with his wife Andrea and their three children. Before leaving for seminary Erik was on staff at Christ Church Plano for several years serving as a youth minister. He is also a published author, keynote speaker for youth camps, and an all around great guy. Ask him about his tattoo…
Erik will spend the next year serving within Restoration as a curate while he learns the “ins and outs” of planting a church. We will send the Willits out next year to plant their own Anglican church in the McKinney area. Please pray for Erik and his whole family as they follow God’s leading through this exciting process.
Erik’s wife Andrea is the communications director for C4SO and has her own amazing qualities. First, she is the mother of three adorable and very active children. Andrea is also a freelance writer who has worked with several magazines and a graduate of Asbury University.
The Willits approached Restoration earlier this year with a desire to learn and serve and we are only too happy to welcome them into our own community for the next year. I know that the whole Restoration family will be blessed by their contributions and friendship. Please plan to worship with us this Sunday where we will introduce Erik, Andrea, and their children to the Restoration family.
The Lord has provided all that we need at Restoration. We have been blessed to see how God has worked through Karen’s ministry and now he has sent Erik to be with us for a season. God is able to meet all of our needs and bless and grow Restoration as we join him in the restoration of all things.
